Truckee Meadows
Watering Info
When can I water my lawn? (Note, subject to change when TMWA revamps to a 3-Day watering week)
Home addresses ending in even numbers: Wednesdays and Saturdays
Addresses ending in odd numbers: Thursdays and Sundays
All local businesses: Tuesdays and Fridays
No watering: Monday
Are there any restrictions to using my drip irrigation?
None! You can use your drip irrigation any day. We recommend a drip system audit to check your drip lines for problems to ensure minimal water waste.
Why can't we water from 1-5 p.m.?
During the hottest parts of the day, most of the water applied on your lawn during those hours evaporates and doesn't reach the plants' root system.

Northern Nevada is one of the most beautiful areas to live. But with the beauty of the high desert comes a responsibility for water management. Reno Lawn & Landscape has developed an excellent and unique water management program. Homeowners with automated irrigation systems are most likely to over-water landscapes. Plants stressed by excess water are more susceptible to disease and pest infestations.
Water Management Program - This is one of the most valuable and affordable services we offer. On a set schedule, our trained supervisor will check your yard for visible problems and hot spots. Our team will make sure your timer's clock setting adjusts seasonally. Problems may include dry spots in your lawn, wash outs from sprinklers or drip, and/or plant material stress. A proactive approach is taken to find small problems and fix them before becoming large, expensive ones. You also receive priority scheduling for repairs by being on this program.
-
Charges - Per visit charges include a visible inspection of your lawn and any clock adjustments as necessary.
Larger properties might take more time and we'll make sure you're aware of any additional fees before we begin the work.
If repairs are required then our regular charges apply and the initial charge is waived.
- Schedule - Weather permitting, there are normally 15 inspections per year: 2 in May, 2 in June, 4 in July, 4 in August, 2 in September, and 1 in October.
- Appointments? - Yes, under special circumstances, but not on a regular basis. An appointment for the first call of the day can be set to guarantee an exact time or we can set an arrival timeframe within a two-hour timespan.
